          How the school got started

Allen and Betty Bash came to Norco in 1962 where they purchased a 2 acres dilapidated pig farm with the intent of opening  a preschool and day care center.  Town & Country Day school opened its doors in 1963, and was the first state licensed preschool and day-care center in the

Norco area.  It is the oldest same owner business in Norco.  Betty and Allen are considered pioneers in the field of early childhood education.

From the beginning, their academic programs and playgrounds were unheard of, and now considered to be groundbreaking .

Betty’s development of a cohesive early childhood curriculum is used as a model today by the state of  California.  Betty worked tirelessly to establish higher standards and ethics in a field which many considered at the time, nothing more than a baby-sitting service.

Betty and Allen formed the ‘’Inland Empire Pre-School  Association‘’.  Betty and Allen were also involved in the city’s incorporation.
